The Libra new moon arrives with Mars in tow, exactly conjunct the Venus ruled lunation with shouts over yonder (semi sextile) from Uranus throwing something unexpected in the mix.
This Mercury retrograde has got my mind in a tumble. It’s been so nice switching off and losing track of time, following where the little threads of curiosity lead. Surrendering into a state of not too many plans, nothing pulling this way or that. Even if it has all been a bit of a blur, clarity eventually comes and we may as well make the most of it while the retrogrades are in full swing. Creating space for these moments in time make it all the more enjoyable.
In true Venusian style there is a level of surrendering, and of deepening as she nears the end of her Scorpio transit this new Libra new moon. Even though it is a new moon, usually the energy for new beginnings and reflection, it is also conjuring transformational release and action. It’s almost like a clearing out of all the chaos in our systems from as far back as last year when the world went belly up. A clearing to find new place of balance. Things may never be the same, but we can find a new sense of balance, even in the midst of changes and what may feel challenging when dealing with the ‘we'.
That said with Saturn moving very slowly about to turn direct it feels as if time slows, even with Pluto, Mercury and Jupiter all also turning direct! Things will start moving once Saturn moves more. There doesn't feel like there is going to be a lot of headway made with topics that are floating in our fields. Differences in opinions aren't magically going to resolve themselves and are going to require readjustment, balancing and understanding.
This is not necessarily an easy moon, but one where you may potentially recognise what needs to come back into alignment in the realms of relationships, self care and compassion. It may slowly seep in like an evening haze or abruptly like a swooping ghost from the past. Either way remember there is an element of letting go while renewal happens from the moon. What is seeded now hangs around for a while.
Being in places of beauty that inspire heart opening (in nature) and spark creativity will encourage balance and peacefulness. Be kind to yourself, be kind to others.

Each and every one of us straddle the paradox and experience the tension between a desire for predictability and safety side by side with a desire for adventure and surprise. No one just wants familiarity. No one just wants spontaneity. We are all on a continuum of both. The same is true for the dialectic tensions between autonomy and connection. We all want to feel connected and in relationship with others and we all want to feel a sense of autonomy and individuation too. Most of us were trained to look at contradictions through a monologic lens of either/or but since we contain multitudes; we are balancing both/and. The New Moon in Libra helps us hold the contradictions of autonomy and connection, predictability and novelty, love and desire while not seeing these contradictions as a problem that needs a solution but simply a paradox that needs to be leveraged.
At the time of the New Moon in Libra, both Mercury - which is currently retrograde - and Mars transit Libra. So both lunations and two personal planets join together in Libra helping us sort through where we can move from polarity to complementarity. Where we can leverage the paradox. And see communication and our open-forms of communication as the only bridge which can help us find the win/win among competing ideas and our path back to each other.
May the New Moon in Libra give you the permission to be multitudes, the grace to witness other people’s multitudes, and the balance in conversation which seeks understanding and peace.
